Beaded Lily Glass Works is wonderfully located in the Oltrarno, Florence's "Left Bank" (Translated, Oltrarno literally means the other side of the river Arno). Home to countless generations of artisans, the Oltrarno is a dream setting for those seeking to immerse themselves in the history and creativity of Italy. This charming area is either home to, or within easy walking distance from, most of the city's "must see" attractions.

Tip: Print these directions prior to your visit! 

We'll begin our short journey on Florence's fabled Ponte Vecchio (The Old Bridge) which is centrally located within the city, universally known and just a few minutes walk from our studio. The walk itself consists of just two turns and is quite charming.

To get your bearings for our trip, stand in the center of the bridge. The highest point of the dome of the cathedral will be at your back, a bust of Benvenuto Cellini will be on your right and on your left, a series of arches.

Let's begin walking...

As you walk towards the end of the bridge, you'll see Baccus just up ahead on your right. Turn right at Baccus onto the street Borgo San Jacopo.

Stay on Borgo San Jacopo for a couple of longish blocks. You'll be taking the third left onto Via Toscanella. The street sign is not visible from Borgo San Jacopo but you will easily know which is your turn by the sculpture mounted in the side of the wall: A man holding his nose. The sculpture will be on your left and is up a bit high on the wall.

Turn left, this is Via Toscanella, our street. Only a couple of more blocks to go!

Continue on ahead as you pass through a small piazza called Piazza Della Passera. If you would like to grab a quick coffee, I would certainly recommend our friends at the Caffè Degli Artigiani. Grab a seat in their cozy sitting room or charming outdoor area and have one of Cinzia's fabulous desserts, made fresh that day. Sono da morire! (They are to die for!)
