Our featured artist is one of our own beadmaking students:
Michela Fusaro
Michela was born and raised in Lecce, Italy. (Found in the region of Puglia in southern Italy) After completing Liceo Artistico (a high school that focuses on the arts) she went on to study architecture here in Florence. It was in this period when she discovered her love of creating jewelry, especially pieces that feature natural fibers such as wood and hemp. Michela is a street artist and vendor who returns to her hometown of Lecce each summer to sell her creations.
In 2007 Michela became a student here at Beaded Lily Glass Works and has proven herself to be a quick study! Her dedication and passion for her craft have helped her to quickly become proficient at beadmaking. It's obvious that the sky is the limit for this glass artist! |

Michela also makes and sells a series of wonderful hemp cord necklaces that feature handmade glass beads. She has perfected a style of wrapping the hemp cord in such a way so as to give the necklace a very unique look and feel. Soft to the touch, the hemp cord wrap becomes even more comfortable with use. The ends are knotted and sheared, creating a loop clasp that holds both securely and comfortably. These necklaces are available for purchase. Click on a photo to enter the store. |
