Beading Classes at Beaded Lily

Spring/Summer - 2008

About Our Classes:  All of the below-described classes will meet at the Beaded Lily bead shop in Florence, Italy. (Sdrucciolo dei Pitti, 13r)

Classes are taught by store owner and professional jewelry designer Lily Mordà, unless otherwise noted.  Lily has owned a bead/jewelry shop for almost twenty years, both here in Italy and in the United States.  In this period of time she has taught dozens of students the joys of beading, both in formal classes, and by offering excellent in-shop customer assistance.  Lily has designed hundreds of pieces of jewelry which have been sold to clients from all over the world.  Her goal is to help students realize their own unique creativity through designing beautiful, functional and durable fashion jewelry.  Classes will be taught in English or Italian, or a combination of both, as needed.

*A note for those of you considering visiting from the UK: We have had numerous students tell us that flying Ryan Air (out of Stansted, I believe, flying into Pisa) is so reasonable that it makes even short visits to Florence quite affordable. The airline also offers 8 Euro round-trip bus transportation from Pisa to Florence. Concerning accommodations: We have a number of reasonably priced recommendations located within easy, and charming, walking distance of our studios. If we can be of assistance please don't hesitate to Contact Us.

Class Policies:

*All classes are 2 1/5 – 3hrs. in duration unless otherwise stated. Classes will be scheduled at a convenient time that meets each group of students’ needs.

Scheduling:

Students from University programs around Florence often come to us in small groups, wishing to schedule classes around their other scholastic activities. This approach is encouraged, as it enables us to schedule classes at times that are convenient for all concerned, rather than at a fixed time that might be less convenient. If you are part of a group, and would like to schedule a class for a certain time, please enquire either via the Contact Us page, or in person. It is best to schedule all group classes at least five days in advance, but classes scheduled on shorter notice are often possible. Just ask!

Students who are not part of a group may initiate the scheduling of a particular class simply by contacting us. Beaded Lily can then advertise the date of the proposed class in hopes of recruiting other interested students, both in-store and on our website. If no other students are found, the student who initiated the scheduling of that particular class will have the option of taking it privately at the private rate (see above). If you would like to initiate the scheduling of a class, please do so at least 10 days in advance, so that we will have the opportunity to find others to join the class.

Students wishing to schedule a private class should contact us at least five days prior to their desired class time.
